CIHM 2012 - Race track preview and More++.

For the first timers like us, here are some sneak- peak  of  of Corregidor’s  race track, highlighting  the “Malinta Tunnel” and more. Video courtesy of fellow mountaineers from Ayala Mountaineering Club Inc. (AMCI). 40 AMCI basic mountaineering course trainees spend the weekend in Corregidor Island for the penultimate series of activities in 2009. Since running is one of the best cross training for mountaineering.

Some trails in CIHM on December 1, will be pretty much like this. So you’ll have an idea how beautiful the place is and perhaps prepare some strategies.

Enjoy!

We also look forward for the Carbo loading Dinner, thus ito agad ang inuna kong kinuha. I got ticket number’s 1 & 2 exited much. Carbo loading dinner will be catered by Yellow Cab. How’s that? Smile

Got our race kits, sizes are a bit big for us, since American sizing ito to benefit expat participants. But coach Edward advised us that shirt can be replaced on the race day.

We’ll be camping out, to have some little adventure and to enjoy the place even more. Camp site is at the South Dock which where the carbo dinner will also be held.  We even got a new tent for this event. Hehe. Smile

Checklist for campers (Basic) for beginners and Reminders for the regulars. Smile

Tent (for beginners you can buy sa Coleman, I suggest yung  SUN DOME tent nila 2,300 ata 2persons)

Sleeping bag or Earth pad since you would want to have a good sleep before the. Earth pad would do and mas mura compare sa sleeping bag. You can buy sa mga outdoor shops at Mega Mall, Robinsons Galle and Pioneer, Trinoma. 300 pesos yung earth pad 900 to 1300 yung sleeping bag.

Implantable pillow mahirap matulog ng walang unan, and it would be bulky naman if you would bring a regular pillow. I recommend Intex Implantable pillow you can buy this at any department store 100 pesos, comfortable sya and light weight at the same time.

Wind and Cold protections it is really cold at night much more sea sidAe pa yung site. Yan lagi ko problema when camping out. Bring Jacket, pants, socks and Thermal blanket for emergency ito yung silver foil you can also buy this sa mga outdoor shops. 100 to 200 pesos. This is important lalu na kung ginawin kayo.

Lights I suggest head lamps, para hands free and practical anywhere you look maliwanag. For beginners you can buy energizers or Eveready head lamps. 400 to 700 yung Energizer with night mode and 270 yung Eveready. You can buy this at Handy Man or ACE hardware (which I think naka sale pa yung energizer) I would not recommend yung mga generic na madi in china, sakit lang sa ulo.

Cook ware, if you’ll will also consider cooking your own food. Medyo complicated ito since you would need to bring a cook set: Stove and butane gas cook ware. And medyo mahal bumili nito. Marami naman kaninan sa place so this wont be a problem and if you avail the carbo dinner ok na, since may free lunch namn on the race day.

Siguro just bring your owns spoon and pork and  paper plates.

But if you want to sip tea/coffee at night Just approach us we can cover that. Mag pakulo ako ng tubig for you. Smile

Ample amount of toiletries ok na yung mga nasa sachets para hindi mabigat.

Dri-fit shirts paraligt weight and easy to dry pag nabasa.

Water proofing ziplocks for gadgets, disposable ponchos for you. You can buy dispoable ponchos sa Coleman and any outdoor shops 75 pesos.

Medicine kit  liniment para sa lamig, and other essentials.

Hope to see more campers sa site para  mas masaya.

Couple din kami mag camp-out, Red coleman tent yung gagamitin namin. Just approach us at the camp site if you’ll be needing some assistance.

Good luck to all of us and Many Thanks to Coach Edward and his associates for putting up this one of kind running event!
